Site for Sore Eyes: The Kitchy Kitchen:
When you come across a food photograph that is so scrumptious looking that you quite literally have to hold yourself back from licking your computer screen, you know that it's worth finding out more about the photo / recipe / etc. Such is the case with The tantalizing work of Claire Thomas, the mastermind behind The Kitchy Kitchen. I first came across her Homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches via Syndi on Pinterest, and have been torturing myself (in a good way of course) by stalking her site ever since.
Really, I double-dog dare you to visit her blog and not immediately scrawl down a shopping list so that you can recreate one of her tasty recipes. Even if you're not adept in the kitchen, the eye-candy on her site is worth a visit. Skedaddle on over and see more of The Kitchy Kitchen for yourself.

kelzuki state prints from design sponge!
kelzuki state prints:
My love of state-themed design knows no bounds. So naturally these beautiful state prints from Kelsey Oseid at Kelzuki just shot straight to the top of my “favorites” list. Each state outline is filled with the colors and pattern of that state’s official bird. I’ve never been a fan of my home state’s bird (the cardinal), but I love the way Kelsey combined that bright red with a khaki colored paper- it feels modern and does Virginia proud. Click here to check out and order all of her state prints online ($18 each). Thanks to Margie for the tip! xo, grace

These fabulous shots of new Blairgowrie store White Nest found their way into my inbox recently thanks to stylist Julia Green and photographer Armelle Habib (thankyou ladies!)… how truly beautiful is it!?? I keep discovering so many great creative people and retailers along the Mornington Peninsula… this is just one more reason to schedule a little daytrip down the coast one day very soon!
White Nest stocks homewares, beach and garden accessories, soft furnishings, candles and body products, clothing and kidswear. Owner Lee Harris curates this perfectly styled store with an impressive range of local and international labels, as well as one off pieces, such as artwork by Emma Cleine of Lumiere Art + Co who we featured recently. Other local brands you might recognise include Goldnbrown (remember Andy Brown’s stunning Blairgowrie home?!), Tractor Home, Angus and Celeste, Curio & Curio and many more!
I really, seriously, need to work on a Peninsula shopping guide, don’t I?

OMG Pantone dessert swatches from Atypical A
Pantone dessert swatches:
These Pantone swatch inspired sweets by Emilie Griottes are one of the coolest things I’ve see in a long time. For some seriously gobsmacking (not to mention lipsmacking) food styling and photography, be sure to swing on by to her blog (it’s in French, but the images speak for themselves).

wtf....."Beater Whisk" from Better Living Through Design
Beater Whisk:
So smart. This whisk by Ding3000 can be folded together to save space in your kitchen drawer. A small ring serves as the opening and closing mechanism and can be used to hang the whisk as well. Looks like it would be easy to clean (it’s nylon), and, if that’s not enough for you, check out all the colors available: white, grey, light blue, nude, lavender, pink, mint and dark blue.
-11 x 0.8 inches
Produced and distributed by Normann Copenhagen.

"technicolor thonet" from Design*Sponge
technicolor thonet:
It’s funny how our perceptions of furniture and things we grew up with can change over time. When I was little, Spode and Thonet-inspired dining chairs were a big part of my parents’ decorating style, and I remember thinking they were tragically uncool. Cut to 20 or so years later, and now I’m starting to appreciate and even want them. Yesterday morning, I spent a few hours hunting down a vintage wooden Thonet side chair (with cane seat — no luck), and I came across these colorful versions instead. While this isn’t quite the look I’m going for, I totally would have given in to the hot pink version a few years ago. All that bright color against such a classic, curvy form looks fantastic. The blue and green versions are sold at DWR ($275 each), and the hot pink one is from ABC Home ($150). So if the worn-out wooden look isn’t quite your bag, maybe these bright versions will be a better fit. I’d love to see a ton of those pink chairs attached to create one giant entryway bench . . . xo, grace
